Rethinking Exercise Methods for Health and Fitness

Associate Professor Chiho Fukuzaki

Since the latter half of the 20th century, guidelines for exercise methods aimed at improving health and physical fitness have been proposed, mainly in the United States. While the basic principles have remained unchanged, new exercise methods have been devised and proposed due to changes in lifestyle patterns and the aging population in Japan. This seminar will introduce the basic exercise methods used in the past as well as new methods and innovations in recent years.

Generation of extremely high magnetic fields and their application to condensed matter physics

Associate Professor Yasuhiro Matsuda

A magnetic field is a relativistic field created by the motion of electric charges. However, the generation of such strong magnetic fields is not easy technically, and the development of magnetic fields has a long history in the world. We will introduce the generation of the world's strongest magnetic field of over 100 tesla using a destructive magnet and the recent research results using it.

Professor Koichi Matsuda

Construction of a Large-Scale Biobank and Analysis of Disease Susceptibility Genes

Professor Koichi Matsuda

This presentation will introduce the operation and management of Biobank Japan, which consists of approximately 230,000 patient samples, and the results of analysis using genomic and clinical information.
