Prof. Kanoda Wins Humboldt Research Award

Kazushi Kanoda, Project Researcher and Emeritus Professor at the Department of Advanced Materials Science, the University of Tokyo, won the Humboldt Research Award. This international academic prize from Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, a German Foundation, is given to globally recognized researchers who made significant achievements that should be remembered in history and are highly expected to play an important role in cutting-edge academic areas. This year, the award was given for his research on the development of strongly correlated phenomena in organic conductors, including discoveries of quantum metal-insulator transition, unconventional superconductivity, spin liquid, and electronic glass. The award ceremony will be held in Bamberg, Germany, from March 21 to 23, 2024.
