Ms. Nanami Ito, a 3rd-year doctoral student at the Department of Integrated Biosciences, the GSFS, won the Poster Presentation Award at the 13th International Congress on Plant Molecular Biology, which was held from June 24 to 28, 2024, at the Cairns Convention Centre in Australia.
Awardee: Nanami Ito
Supervisor: Professor Sachihiro Matsunaga
Presentation Title: Nuclear pore complex proteins are involved in centromere distribution in Arabidopsis thaliana
This research clarified found the factor that plays in the regulation of centromere arrangement in Arabidopsis thaliana. As a result, she found that the nuclear pore complex in the cell nuclear membrane is involved in centromere dispersal.
Message from Awardee:
It is a great honor for me to receive this award. I would like to express my deepest appreciation for all the support from my supervisor, Professor Sachihiro Matsunaga, co-researchers, and everyone at the laboratory. I will continue to make even greater efforts in research.
