The Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT) is a speech competition where students currently pursuing a PhD speak about their research for three minutes with one static PowerPoint slide. All research topics are welcome. 3MT provides participants with an opportunity to practice presentation and communication skills and network with other researchers. The University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) held the first 3MT in 2008 and it is now an internationally recognized event. UTokyo will hold its first 3MT on May 11, 2019.
