Date&Time:
Jan 15, 2025 16:50~18:35
Venue:
Hybrid ( FS Hall, 1st Floor of Environmental Studies Building)
Tomohiko Ihara, Associate Professor, Division of Environmental Studies, Department of Environment Systems

The rise of atmospheric temperature due to climate change causes sleep disorders as well as heatstroke and circulatory diseases.
This seminar introduces the relationships between temperature or heat environment and sleep and the quantification of damages caused by sleep disorders.

Hiroshi Kori, Professor, Division of Transdisciplinary Sciences, Department of Complexity Science and Engineering

Mathematical And Experimental Research on Biological Clock: Influence of Time Difference and Shift Work

Hiroshi Kori, Professor, Division of Transdisciplinary Sciences, Department of Complexity Science and Engineering

Constant jet lags and shiftwork cause serious problems, such as sleep disorders and high risks of certain diseases.
This seminar introduces experimental research on the impacts of time differences and shiftwork on the biological clock, along with anticipated solutions by mathematical models and data analyses of the biological clock to these problems.
