Biology has an aspect of natural history. Therefore, it has developed as life science with scientists aiming for discoveries of matters related to molecular mechanisms since the discovery of Mendelism. Currently, huge life data generated by innovative measurement technology demands “discoveries” by advanced computation superior to search. Generative AI’s rapid progress promises a new era of life data science that combines life data archives and AI.

For transdisciplinary approaches, clarifying the common basis is key to integrating different academic fields. This seminar systematically introduces data-driven science, the common basis, and transdisciplinary projects that use data-driven science.
