■Editor's Notes
Evolutionary differentiation has led to the diversification of genomes and species over a long period of time; ultimately, it contributes to the maintenance of complex yet harmonious ecosystems. Humans change their traits in ever-changing environments to realize a human society each time. The analogy of evolution can inspire us to develop new ideas to solve imminent problems that could prevent harmony and peace, such as climate change and social division. I hope readers can gain a deeper understanding of evolution through the cover story and have opportunities for new and diverse interactions..
