■Editor's Notes
The feature article of this September issue reveals that VR research is now proceeding to the next phase; the sense of touch, in addition to the sense of sight and hearing. You may be amazed to learn that spatiotemporal distribution of pressure can be created by mid-air haptic feedback technology using ultrasound. The research is also progressing combining AI and illusions. If VR devices currently in development can be put in practical use in academia, business, medical services, and recreations or travels, the world will be totally changed regarding human recognition. And you may feel that it will happen very soon after you read the article. Hope you enjoy the topic and feel a sense of the eve of the VR technology revolution at GSFS.
