■Editor's Notes
Achieving carbon neutrality is an urgent issue shared by the entire global community. Not only researchers but many people are aware of its importance, particularly considering the recent extreme weather conditions. As a researcher and an individual, I have a strong interest in climate change and thought I had a lot of information about it. However, after discussing the issue with Professor Kameyama and students, as well as reading more articles on technologies and research related to carbon neutrality, I recognized the difficulty of finding a solution and the challenges that researchers around me face. The featured article in Sosei Vol. 43 highlights the challenges of solving this problem and presents possible approaches to achieving a carbon-neutral society. I hope that this article will contribute to efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality.
